With a modest start in the middle to late 70’s, Executive Partners’ roots can be found in a company called Draftmore (Pty) Ltd – suppliers of Draughtsmen, Designers and Engineers across all fields and disciplines of Engineering. Thirty years on, we still retain our engineering prowess, but have become the preferred Management and Executive suppliers in the fields of publishing, retail, financial services, shipping, fruit export, supply-chain and logistics, automotive (light commercial, trucking and special utility vehicles), numerous manufacturing enterprises, project management, top-end tourism, ink making and printing, accounting and auditing, dairy production and distribution and TV film productions. We are also involved in several corporate social responsibility initiatives like helping to establish the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour Event Management Trust management team, providing key personnel to St Mary’s Hospital in Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Community Chest Trust in Cape Town.

An eight year stint with Deloitte, which came to an end, as a result of Global SEC regulations imposed on global auditing firms, gave us great insight into many world-class best practices, especially in the area of assessing for top leadership.

The Activity Based Assessment and Confirmation tool (ABAC) is intellectual property developed by Executive Partners and has become well-known for its ability to discern between those who ‘talk the walk’ and those who can actually ‘walk the talk’.

At Executive Partners, we offer advertised selection (‘Advertised’), executive search (‘Searched’) and bespoke recruitment. Placement fees are quoted on merit and range from 20 – 25% of Cost of Employment, based on the degree of difficulty. All assignments are taken face-to-face, regardless of how well we know our client. We offer a 6 month guarantee on all placements 20% of the full fee is taken as a retainer to launch an “Advertised” Assignment. Executive Partners advertises the position on the client’s behalf. Advertising costs are for the client’s account.

The ‘Advertised’ route is by far the most expedient and fairest way to elicit response from an open market. Advertising copy is created by our sister brand, Gear Advertising and written in such a way that it ensures both ‘passive readers’ and ‘quality job seekers’ apply. (Gear is the acronym for Grasp, Entice, Align and Response [stimuli]).

To protect both our brand and that of our client’s ALL APPLICANTS ARE CORRESPONDED WITH. Similarly, candidates found to be unsuitable after the ABAC assessment stage and/or behavioural profiling stage and/or ‘fitability’ interview and/or after background check results are to hand, are also corresponded with in writing, as soon as an appropriate decision has been reached.


Search by Executive Partners is a discreet 4 month, highly interactive process between ourselves and our client, whereby potential industry sectors and known likely candidates are discussed and a specific strategy agreed. Fees are quoted on the merits of the assignment and range between 25 – 30% of the Cost of Employment package, dependent on the degree of difficulty. One-third of the fee, becomes due on being retained, one-third advanced on the production of a credible short list and a final one-third on placement.

For clients wanting to only use our response handling structure and/or our failsafe ABAC assessment and/or behavioural profiling and/or ‘fitability’ interviewing process and/or background checking capability, Executive Partners will quote to undertake a specific function/s, as required and will work in close association with the client’s executive and Human Resources team.
